We had been considering getting a German Shepherd puppy for around a year.   We already have a 3 year old GSD and a 7 year old Shihtzu. We live on a farm so it was quite important to us to get a puppy that was used to the home environment but also hearing and seeing other animals in its environment. We also have a 7 year old son, so wanted to ensure the puppy we got was going to be well behaved around him and also free from parasites and not a health risk to our boy and other dogs. 

 

We have not been disappointed, despite living a short life before coming to us, our beautiful, well natured puppy was fantastic when we introduced her to our horses, goats, alpacas and chickens. She did not bark or react negatively when being introduced to them. We must give credit to Mo and Zep for this due to their care, commitment and experience when breeding Mascani German Shepherds. They are both committed and fantastic breeders. They have patience when dealing with all the questions that we continuously ask them (even when they have already told us before but we forgot!). They never make us feel like we are an inconvenience and are there for us every day at whatever time we need them to ask questions. 

 

The most unexpected gift is that we were introduced to our puppy’s siblings in a what’s app group chat. This has been invaluable to us. We all share our experiences and give each other training tips and advice throughout our puppy’s journey of growing up. Mo and Zep are also in the group and offer us support and guidance where needed.

 

We have taken our time in writing this review and have done so after having our puppy for some months now. It is hard to reflect in a short review the amount of care and knowledge that has been invested into Mascani German Shepherds by Mo and Zep. We feel that not only have we been blessed with a beautiful puppy, but also some wonderful friends from the Mascani family and are honoured to have been accepted by everyone and trusted to care for a Mascani German Shepherd.

We first purchased a Mascani puppy in 2021. Important to us was character and soundness. We have other dogs at home and it was of the utmost importance that they fitted in seamlessly. We had no worries. In fact safe to say this puppy exceeded all our expectations. Both Mo and Zep gave us so much support and advice. They are always at the end of the phone should we need them and not just post sales. Our puppy was very social, slept through the night and has such a balanced character. The best compliment we can give them is return business. We are now the proud owners of 3 Mascani girls.

When we decided that it was time to welcome a  German Shepherd into our family, we started to research everything that we could find out about breeders in the UK.  Having had a GSD previously, we knew how special this breed is and we were familiar with the time commitment required, the challenges that a high drive breed can present and just how loving, loyal and well... hugely rewarding they are.  So we wanted to find a breeder that had a track record of producing dogs that had fantastic temperaments, great conformity, would be brilliant with children and had the potential to compete in sports such as IGP.  We spoke to several breeders and one stood out for us above all others.  Our conversations with Mo and Zep hit every chord that we were looking for.  Although we were prepared to wait for the right dog, it so happened that Mo and Zep had recently bred two of their dogs, the beautiful Chloe and the equally handsome Bezique.  We were invited to meet them both and that was it ...we were smitten.  Not only were both dogs exactly what we were looking for in every way, but the conversations with Mo and Zep reinforced earlier conversation that these were the breeders for us.  We were so fortunate to be able to visit the litter from an early age and then regularly until it was time to bring our chosen puppy home.  Zep and Mo helped in the selection and Maya was chosen.  She is spicy, naughty, mischievous and adorable, everything that a puppy should be.  She is brilliant with our grandchildren, great when people visit and over the last few months has won the heart  of everyone she has met.  She is simply, our go anywhere, go everywhere dog.  Her obedience work is coming along nicely and Mo and Zep have been alongside us every step of the way.  Always ready to provide advice and help with questions.  One of the great joys has been to be in contact with all of Maya's litter mates via Mascani's  litter WhatsApp group and to regularly see Chloe and Bezique.  You simply won't find a better breeder.
